AP CALCULUS BC
People of Calculus
Project -- Fifth Six Weeks

TASK
Each group must write a report on a mathematician who helped invent calculus.

THINGS TO DO:
Get together and decide which person you want to write about.

Give some history of the person's life.  Include some unusual anecdotes, if possible.  Some of these people were unusual characters.

Include some of the mathematics your person worked on.  If he/she was famous for some theorem or mathematical idea, be sure to include that.  I want to see the mathematics, not just read that this mathematician worked on this idea, so find some you understand..

You should use at least 4 sources, not all on the Web.

The paper should be typed and bound in a plastic binder.  Include a resource page.

Some of you may be asked to present your papers in class.

Turn in on or before April 5, 2002.
