Each group should choose two projects
from
the possibilities
list (one before Surface Area and one after) and prepare good
written
reports. Write down your choices and put them in the tray in my
room
at school. Each group should choose different topics -- first
come,
first serve. Print out the problems you solve and turn them in
with
your solutions.
Problem
of
the Week
If
email is not sufficient for checking these problems, then print out the
problem and write out your work and turn it in to me. All
problems
must be done before solutions are posted on the websites.
Try the government'smath challenge.
Work the problem and print out the page that says your solution is
correct and turn it in by Friday of each week. I don't know yet
how
long each of these will be posted. You may submit the high school challenge and
the open challenge.
Jets Problem -- -- Scroll
down to "Take the Jets Challenge". You
will be directed to a site containing the problem. Turn your
solution
in to me by Friday of each week and I
will check it. If you can figure out how to submit your answer go
ahead and do that and just email me that you have done so.
"Columbia State University"
prepares a problem
of the week that you may do for extra
credit.
It needs to be worked by Saturday each week, and
on
Monday of the next week (or whenever they get it to you) you
should
turn in the email they send you that tells you the problem is
correct.
They will have it dated correctly.
The Problem
Site -- Find the High School Page or the Calculus Page. You
may do those problems and submit your solutions to their site.
Turn in the email they send you or forward it to me.
NCTM
Weekly Problem
-- Work the problem under "Weekly Problem" and turn it in by Thursday
of every week. You must turn it in before the solution is posted.
Calclus Problem
of the Week posted by the North Carolina Calculus Teachers
organization -- Write up your solution neatly and give it to me.
They give instructions to email it to them, but it is only for members
of their group. So we will do it on our own.
