POLISH SAUSAGE
Polish Sausage is a cooked/smoked sausage that can be
eaten in several different ways, served cold with potato salad or other
cold plates.It is also good to use in casseroles, cooked with cabbage,
or served on a bun like a hotdog.
The orginal recipe used mainly pork, however, other types
of meats or a combination of meats can and is used to obtain lower fat
content and for economics.
You may find other simular products on the market with
different names(ie)fresh kielbassa/not cooked or smoked,also depending
on the country of orgin.
The basic recipe for polish sausage includes a cure,
salt, pepper, garlic and other spices and flavoring along with casings
(casings can be natural hog casings) also artifical casings are available/some
edible, others have to peeled before eating.
