Objectives:

To experience the progress of aviation from World War I through the present via books and films.

To read more widely.

To view critically.

To write with organization and coherence.

To analyze and compare various texts and time frames as they relate to aviation.

Materials :

reading list of books and films divided by eras of aviation development

CD ROM encyclopedias

power point presentation

word processing access

Instructions:

Students will choose a book from the prepared reading list and compare it with a movie from the same time frame(WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War.)

Students will write a paper focusing on the developments of aviation as shown in the film and the novel. Students will use word processing or Power Point presentation as a means of presenting their reports.
