SPACE STATION SIMULATION

DESCRIPTION:

Simulate the contructon and operation of the world's first commercial space station in low earth orbit.

GRADE LEVEL - SUBJECT

9th Grade - Algebra

TIME FRAME:

All Year

OBJECTIVES:

  1. To porject a budget for a fixed number of days.
  2. To hire and train a crew to construct the space station.
  3. To develop heavy-lift launch vehicles.
  4. To develop space station modules.
  5. To schedule shuttles between earth and space station in low earth orbit.

MATERIALS:

  1. IBM 586/75 Computers
  2. Space M*A*X Software by final frontier software

    INSTRUCTION:

    1. Students will be placed in teams due to the limitation of computers.
    2. Each team will be given free reign to construct their space station within given budget parameters.
    3. This project will be ongoing and will last all year.
