(Careers) Orientation
The Aviation Orientation course is
designed to introduce students to various aerospace career opportunities.
Students will learn about the early history of aviation, later
developments, aviation fundamentals, the science of flight including
aerodynamics, flight mechanics principles, aircraft systems, the flight
environment, weather forecasting & meteorology, navigation, flight operations
& planning, and aerospace travel. Additionally, the class serves as a
guide to motivate students into making career choices in the field of
aviation or in some other related aerospace industry.
The goal of this course is to
expose all aviation students to the career base that exists in today's and
future labor markets with emphasis on preparing students for post-secondary
education or training in an aviation related field. Students are provided
access to the World Wide Web (Internet) for information searches and other
resources. They can interact on-line using both local and global information
system networks.
