Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) Course II---Grade 12

These courses are taught by certified aircraft maintenance technicians at the Tennessee Technology Center of Memphis. The brand new Aviation School Campus is located approximately two miles from Wooddale High School and is next to the Memphis International Airport facility with an excellent view of Federal Express' maintenance & hub operations.

The purpose for these courses of instruction is to introduce students to the complete repair procedures and practices of aircraft structures and airframes including: aircraft construction, hydraulics, and weights and balance. Additionally, students will receive technical instruction in mathematics, electricity, physics, aircraft finishes, welding, assembly, rigging, and general avionics systems. Also included in the curriculum is maintenance management procedures, inspection scheduling, and overhaul requirements as required by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Students will be able to log actual training time during their high school years towards certification with a Federal Aviation Administration's approved Aircraft Maintenance Technician license.

While attending Wooddale's Aviation Optional School Program, students will receive aviation classes which will adequately prepare them for successful completion of the AMT course.
