GRADE LEVEL - SUMMARY

 11/12th Grade - Travel and Tourism Marketing

 

TIME FRAME:

Two class periods (2 hours)

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

 

1. To determine travel destinations

2. To determine target market

CURRICULUM MATERIALS:

 

1. Computer workstation complete with Internet access and printing capability.

2. Selected travel brochures.

3. Demographic materials and population surveys. 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

1. Students will select five specific travel destinations.

2. Students will prepare a one page written report planning a travel itinerary for each

destination including the target market that would be most appropriate if planning a

promotion for this area.

 

 EVALUATION:

 

A rubric set up to evaluate the learning that would include material content, writing skills, and the timely manner in which the assignment is completed.
